Bitcoin Price Analysis Tracks $83,000 Support After Sequans Exit

    TLDR:

    • Bitcoin price analysis shows BTC at $84,165, 33.2% below its October 2025 record but still up 3.64% over seven days and 8.85% over two weeks.
    • Sequans sold its remaining 34 BTC, ended its treasury strategy and reported no crypto assets or debt beyond obligations tied to government-funded research programs.
    • Crypto Patel said 16.3 million BTC, around 81% of supply, had not moved for six months, while long-term holders added more than 3 million BTC since 2020.
    • BTC’s $83,000 support could expose 80,000–81,144 if lost; resistance lies at 85,500–86,000, with daily averages retaining 13 bullish readings.

Bitcoin price analysis weighs two signals: corporate treasury sales and a large share of supply that has stayed dormant. Bitcoin traded near $84,165 on Saturday, September 26, down roughly 33.2% from its October 2025 price record of $126,080. NYSE-listed Sequans Communications sold its final 34 BTC and ended its treasury strategy.

It now reports no crypto assets on its balance sheet. The exit followed months of debt repayment and sales. Analyst Crypto Patel says about 16.3 million BTC, or 81% of supply, had not moved in six months. Bitcoin still held above $83,000 support in Saturday morning trading after the pullback.

Bitcoin Price Analysis Tracks Sequans and Treasury Sellers

The September transaction completed the staged exit Sequans began earlier this year. It reported no outstanding debt, except obligations tied to government-funded research programs. CEO Georges Karam said the company monetized its holdings carefully and would focus on a semiconductor growth strategy.

The reduction began in May, when Sequans used bitcoin to redeem all remaining convertible debt issued in July 2025. It then held about 658 BTC. Holdings fell to 314 BTC by June 30, before the company sold its final 34 BTC in September. At the time, Sequans said its treasury strategy had ended and remaining BTC would be sold over time.

The company framed the move as balance-sheet restructuring, not a bearish view of bitcoin. Q2 product revenue rose more than 80% year over year. Its six-month product backlog more than tripled. Those figures provide context for its pivot toward the semiconductor business.

Other public companies have taken different paths. Satsuma Technologies dismantled its treasury vehicle, while Empery Digital sold 1,400 BTC for about $87 million earlier this year. Strategy departed from its buy-only policy with several consecutive summer sales, then resumed purchases in late August and last week.

Strive continued accumulating, reaching 25,000 BTC this month and buying 1,355 more last week. These examples show Sequans’ decision does not represent a uniform move among public holders. For Bitcoin price analysis, treasury decisions offer only one view of wider market positioning. Sequans’ exit reflects one company’s own balance-sheet priorities, while wallet data describe broader market behavior.

Dormant Bitcoin Supply and the $83,000 Support Test

Crypto Patel says 16.3 million BTC, about 81% of circulating supply, had not moved for over six months. The post said long-term holders added more than three million BTC since 2020. Roughly 300,000 BTC moved from older wallets in H1 2026.

BTC retail holders reportedly sold about 140,000 BTC in H1 2026. They bought back more than 107,000 BTC in Q3. These figures describe supply movement, not a fixed measure of sellable coins. Dormant coins can move, and wallet age alone does not identify an owner’s future plans.

Bitcoin’s 24-hour range ran from $83,230 to $84,662 after rejection at $87,374. BTC rose 3.64% in seven days and 8.85% across two weeks. Yet it remained 33.2% below its $126,080 October 2025 peak. Market capitalization stood near $1.69 trillion, with daily volume at $27.86 billion.

For Bitcoin price analysis, $83,000 is the immediate level to watch. A break below it could expose support between $80,000 and $81,144. The $83,230 low sat just $230 above $83,000. Buyers face resistance between $85,500 and $86,000; reclaiming that zone would put the prior $87,374 rejection back in view.

Daily moving averages retain a bullish rating, with 13 positive readings. That score sits beside a market trading below its peak and a nearby support test. For Bitcoin price analysis, holding $83,000 would preserve the current range. A loss could shift focus toward the lower support cluster.
